GVR Ball Tracking

Ball tracking technology is utilized in professional sports to detect the ball’s position in space accurately.

Tracking the ball takes place with the help of three GoPro cameras placed in different areas of the field. The cameras track the ball’s movement and take three photos from different perspectives. After this, the program uses them to calculate the ball’s coordinates. Being aware of the coordinates allows us to determine the 3D trajectory of the ball.

Using the 3D trajectory of the ball can help us to make any predictions about its future arrival location or calculate its speed and rotation.

This data can be applied to simulate the throwing of the ball in Virtual Reality applications.
